It has now been 5 years since Televideo joined forces with England Netball in a partnership designed to push the popular women’s sport into the public eye.  Particularly within the last 2 years, netball has received major publicity and media coverage, with the Co-operative coming on board to sponsor the massively successful Superleague competition, and pledging huge support in netball’s campaign to become an Olympic sport.  Televideo continue to produce 25 live and recorded netball programmes a year for Sky Sports, and impressive viewing figures show that Sky Sports now really is the home of British netball. 

For 2009 viewers can look forward to the very first World Netball Series, which is coming to the Manchester Evening News Arena from the 9th – 12th October.  The world’s top 6 nations will battle it out to become the World Netball Series Champion, and with 7 new rule changes making the game faster and much more physical, netball just got hotter.  Televideo are thrilled to be producing the live programmes for Sky Sports on behalf of the World Netball Series organisers IFNA and Manchester City Council, and will also cover all the action for a live world feed. 

Through the off-season the netball production team will adapt their standard netball format to include the exciting new additions of a power play quarter, double goal points for successful shots from outside the goal circle, and rolling substitutions.   The live programmes will be presented by Ingrid Hagemann, who will be joined by a host of familiar faces from the world of netball, bringing game analysis, features and interviews from this thrilling tournament.  Commentator Charlie Brougham will also be joined by special guest summarisers to keep viewers up to speed with the new rules and happenings in what looks set to be a fantastic 3 days of netballing action.
