Last Thursday 24th June saw the Cage Warriors Championship make its Middle East debut, and the Televideo production team travelled out to the Royal Hotel in Amman, Jordan, to produce the ‘Fight Night 1’ VIP event for client Midrar Sports.
This thrilling showcase of mixed martial arts was transmitted around the world to broadcasters including Premier Sports (UK), Setanta Sports (Ireland), Setanta Africa (Africa), the Fight Network (Canada) and Fight Now TV (USA).
Televideo sent a production team and guarantee crew to work alongside local outside broadcast company JMC. The event was directed by Giuseppe Iampietro and produced by James Mitchell, both of whom have now worked on several Cage Warriors events. “It was a great experience”, said James, “We always enjoy working abroad and to visit Jordan was brilliant. The event went well and it’s always a good learning curve to work with new teams and different facilities!”
Televideo have now produced the last four Cage Warriors events, twice from London, and events from Cork and Amman. Typically the company will provide the outside broadcast and production facilities for the event, which requires 7 cameras, including RFs and a Jimmy Jib. ENG shoots are done the day before each event with the fighters, and onsite editing takes place using Final Cut Pro systems, to create pre-fight packages, which are played in ahead of the fighter’s entrances.
