The Start of Summer

Televideo schedules busy for the months ahead

1st July 2011

Thursday 9th June marked the last day of Televideo’s ‘winter productions’, as the Fiat Netball Superleague Grand Final was aired live on Sky Sports. This is one of three programmes that the company produce for Sky Sports between September and June, meaning a minimum of 6 hours of original programming comes out of the Televideo edit suites each week. Add into that the BBC Superleague Show, every Sunday between January and September, and the various one-off shows and short series productions that come through the door, and you have a very busy post-production department!

Televideo’s Sky Sports productions all require weekly outside broadcasts, yet the end of the ‘winter sports’ doesn’t mean a rest for the OB or production teams. The British Superbikes Championships began in April at Brands Hatch, and Televideo will provide the outside broadcast facilities across the season, ending in October. This is the company’s 11th year working on the popular UK competition, for clients Motor Sport Vision and Eurosport. In other Motor sports Televideo were delighted to work for Greenlight Television and BBC Northern Ireland on the NorthWest 200 2011.

Water sports have been in high demand recently too, with the company working as host broadcasters for both the FINA Diving World Series 2011, and the LEN European Synchronised Swimming Cup 2011, both of which were held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Each event was broadcast live on the BBC Red Button, as well as the world feed transmission been taken by countries across the world. In July, Televideo will once again be working by the water, this time in Berlin for the IPC Swimming European Championships.

Other upcoming events include Cage Warriors, Wootton 2020 Cricket, The World Netball Championships, The Hollyoaks Music Show and the UK Jalsa Salana Convention.
