World Netball Champions 2011 World Netball Championships 2011

It was a well-deserved victory for the girls in red and white yesterday, as England were crowned World Netball Series Champions for 2011 after a 3-day tournament at Liverpool’s Echo Arena. Televideo provided outside broadcast and production facilities to England Netball, and Sky Sports aired the full event live for the third year running.

The win was all the sweeter for England, as 2011 was to be the final year the event would take place in the UK, with the Netball New Zealand playing host for the next 3-year term.

The show was headed up by long-time netball presenter Ingrid Hagemann, who was joined in the studio by a raft of special guests from the sport, including Tamsin Greenway, Karen Atkinson, Karen Greig, Lisa Price, Jess Garland and Vicki Wilson. Charlie Brougham was joined in commentary by Anita Navin and Denise Egan.

The netball team now look forward to the start of the 2012 season, which will see a brand new competition start the year with a bang, as the Cathedral City Light Fastnet Grand Prix hits Sky Sports in early January.
