The last week in January saw Televideo produce 46 hours of live TV with the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2012 with Sheffield’s own Motorpoint Arena playing host to Europe’s top figure skating talent.
In addition to producing High Definition live footage of the event, to around 20 countries on the world feed, complete with graphics and guide commentary, in the role of Host Broadcaster, Televideo took responsibility for all onsite broadcaster requirements. We provided production support, portable offices, studio facilities, commentary positions - equipped with ISDN lines and HD dubs for some of our European Broadcasting colleagues from countries including Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and the BBC.
Outside Broadcast unit HD1 was used on this high profile event, with a total of 13 cameras, including Super Slo Motion and a Jimmy Jib, our latest addition to the Televideo arsenal.
The Sheffield crowd gave a warm reception to skaters from all over Europe, with Russia’s Evgeni Plushenko taking his 7th Mens singles title, Italy’s Carolina Kostner was the overall winner in the ladies event and a fantastic performance from French couple Nathalie Pechalat & Fabian Bourzat secured them Gold in the Pairs Ice Dance.
