Investment in equipment and fleet
September 2016 sees the company launch Televideo Streaming – a new department set up to offer clients an alternative to truck-based outside broadcasts. Advances in streaming technologies now mean that high quality productions can be achieved on a lesser budget, with a smaller operation needed to deliver feeds to Internet platforms.
A wide range of equipment has been purchased for this venture, including 5 Tricaster systems, each with dedicated cameras, graphics systems, and audio options – allowing for up to 3-camera coverage with graphics and commentary. Along with this, two additional vehicles have been added to the fleet – Stream 1 and Stream 2 feature roof-mounted satellite dishes, meaning that sites with low Internet speeds can still be viable streaming venues.
Televideo’s first major streaming contract is for the Perform Group on behalf of the BBL – for which every BBL game over the 2016/17 season will be streamed as a 1-camera production to include graphics and commentary. The SoccerEx global football convention also welcomed Televideo Streaming this year, as our crew broadcast from Manchester, capturing the Festival of Football’s main event, the Soccer Street Championships.
