Netball and Basketball for Sky Sports
Action Packed Weekend at the O2
Televideo were delighted to provide OB facilities to Sky Sports this weekend, as they broadcast 2 days of thrilling court action, all live from the O2 Arena in London. Saturday 23rd September saw the inaugural Netball British Fast5s All Stars Championship take centre stage, whilst on Sunday the men were in town for the British Basketball’s All Stars. The Matchroom Sport events offer fans of both basketball and netball a day out like no other, showcasing 2 of the nation’s most popular sports in all their glory.
Televideo’s HD7 was the production hub for the Sky Sports shows on both days; 7-cameras, 2 VizRTs, and 3 EVSs made up the broadcast specification, with 25 staff members working closely with the Sky Sports production team to deliver a great end product. Over the course of the weekend 10 hours of live action was delivered.
Televideo continue to work closely with Sky Sports and England Netball, delivering all UK netball matches to the broadcaster. Next up is what promises to be another thrilling international series, as England take on the Malawi Queens in November, before a Quad Series in January featuring the some of the world’s best players, as South Africa, New Zealand and Australia descend on the Copper Box Arena.
The company’s ties with British Basketball also remain strong – as the BBL’s Official Production partner Televideo cover all UK domestic basketball for the BBC and the Perform Group, with every game of the season being covered. The BBL season begins on the BBC on Friday 15th December.
