Coverage for Perform Group and BBC
The BBL Cup competition came to an end this weekend as both the men’s and women’s finals took place at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham, with the Manchester Mystics and Newcastle Eagles crowned champions. Televideo broadcast both events with a 6-camera OB live on the BBC Red Button, as well as providing a stream for The Perform Group. The BBC production was presented by Nick Bright, who was joined by London Lions CEO and BBL legend Vince Macaulay in the studio. Dan Routledge headed up the commentary team along with GB Assistant Coach Vanessa Ellis, and Leicester Riders Head Coach Rob Paternostro.
Sunday marked the 115th BBL match of the season covered by Televideo, the BBL’s exclusive television production partner. Over the course of the 2016/17 season 242 BBL games will be streamed live worldwide on Perform’s Watch&Bet service, as well as a selection of games on LiveBasketball.TV. Televideo have invested heavily in streaming equipment, vehicles and staff, to ensure the long-term success of this historical venture.
In addition to providing streaming facilities, Televideo are also the OB facilities and production provider to the BBC for 23 live BBL games and 9 WBBL games, to be shown on a variety of BBC platforms across the season. The weekly coverage continues with the BBL and WBBL Championship and Trophy competitions. BBC matches are available on demand on the BBC iPlayer.
