The 2008 season of the FIA GT Championship will be covered in High Definition, as competition promoter, the Stéphane Ratel Organisation, made the decision to move the sport into HD in anticipation of becoming a world series in 2010; it will be one of the first major race series to be broadcast in HD, and Televideo are thrilled to be the Outside Broadcast facility providers for production company Greenlight Television. The company will cover seven of the ten rounds across the 2008 season, and flagship unit HD1 will travel across Europe to each circuit.

Round 1 was held at Silverstone race track on Saturday 19 th and Sunday 20 th April, and was broadcast in High Definition to millions of homes worldwide. Both full programmes and highlights shows have reached a huge audience, and viewers will have witnessed the very best visual experience possible.

Televideo will provide HD outside broadcast services at the next three rounds, with Monza in May, Adria in June, and Oschersleben in July. The biggest and most exciting round for the company and for the crew involved will come on Saturday 23 rd and Sunday 24 th August, when the FIA GT Championship holds Round 6 from Bucharest. This city track, The Bucharest Ring, as it is known, runs approximately 3km around the Palace of the Parliament in Romania’s capital city, and will hold an estimated 90,000 spectators this year.
