Televideo hit the road with the BBC this week, as we joined the Radio 1Xtra team for the 1Xtra Live 2012 tour. Televideo provided outside broadcast facilities for the events, which began in London at the 02 Academy Brixton on Monday 12th November, then moved on to Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham over the course of the week, featuring artists such as Tulisa, Plan B and Alicia Keyes.
The concerts were shown on the 1Xtra website and were also available on the BBC Red Button. Televideo’s HD1 was used on all the jobs, which had a 10 camera specification, including a Jimmy Jib and 2 mini cameras. Televideo also designed VizRT graphics for the tour, and an editing team was on standby each evening using Final Cut Pro and an X-Files system to turn-around edits for the BBC production team.
The 1Xtra Live event comes just a few weeks after Televideo worked with BBC Radio 1 on The xx Symphony Live from Bridlington Spa - a collaboration between Mercury Music Prize winners The xx and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert was presented by Zane Lowe and was broadcast on the Red Button.
