For 9 sunny days in June, the Televideo team called the University of Westminster home, as the Investec Hockey World League Semi Final came to Chiswick in London.

Working for clients at the FIH, Televideo were appointed as the host broadcaster and supplied 7-camera coverage of each of the 24 games to international takers across the world. Operating out of OB unit HD4, the high definition broadcast was also used to produce a daily highlights show for Sky Sports, which focused on Englands progression through the tournament, as well as featuring action from the days other games, interviews, analysis and features. Televideo editors and producers were set up onsite, and edited through the night, to deliver a fully packaged programme to Sky Sports for TX the next day.

Presenter Mike Absalom was joined by injured GB and England star Helen Richardson over the course of the event, with Nick Irvine in commentary. On the final weekend of the tournament, the production went live on Sky Sports, and reporter Sarah Cooper joined the talent team to give a taste of the fantastic atmosphere at the Quintin Hogg Memorial Ground, as England edged ever closer to winning the competition. After beating world champions Argentina in a thrilling semi final, it looked set to be a final steeped in glory for England, but the Australian Hockeyroos had the edge, and took the 3-0 win and the title. However it was smiles all round for England, whose stellar performance secured them a place in the World League Finals in Argentina later in the year.

Televideo have a great deal of experience in acting as host broadcaster, having delivered world feed coverage from many international events including the European Figure Skating Championships, the FINA Diving World Series, the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, the World Netball Series, Eurobasket Basketball, WNBA Basketball, Boxnation Boxing and England v Kazakhstan International football. The companys production arm often work alongside world feed outside broadcasts to produce domestic programming, either live or as-live, and have done so with many events for broadcasters such as Sky Sports, Channel 4 and the BBC.
