WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT
The Warehouse Assistant plays a vital part in the chain process of a successful Outside Broadcast company, aiding with the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of technical equipment, cabling, vehicles and other OB items. The Warehouse Assistant will be managed by the Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Managers to ensure productivity is high, health and safety requirements are met, and that the automated storage and retrieval systems are correct.
Typical Activities
- The efficient utilisation of space and handling of equipment
- Having a clear understanding of the company's vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
- Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where utilised.
- Keeping warehouse systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy.
- Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
- Assisting with the planned maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Loading and off-loading tender vehicles and returning equipment to the correct position, passing on any maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
- Keeping all company vehicles clean on the exterior and interior, and well-stocked with everyday essentials needed for OBs
The candidate must be able to work in an active environment with lifting and carrying essential.
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
The Production Assistant will form part of the existing administrative and operations team at Televideo. Based at Televideo’s Sheffield office, the candidate will play an active role in the planning and organising of all Outside Broadcasts and productions at the company, working closely with the Production and Operations Managers. The role will include
Typical Activities
- To respond and action any incoming calls in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
- To action a range of production activities as required by the senior management team, in an efficient and professional manner, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, including:
- Booking crew for outside broadcasts across the group as required.
- Booking hotel accommodation for OBs across the group.
- Booking talkback licences for OBs across the group.
- Organising security as required for OBs across the group.
- Organising and booking links and telephone installations for Televideo OBs.
- Organising parking dispensation for Televideo OBs.
- Management of day-to-day non-confidential staff documents including signing in sheets, holidays, sickness documents etc.
- Purchases of office supplies including stationary, consumables, tape stock.
- To comply with all health and safety legislation as documented in the employee handbook.
- To assist management in a number of tasks including diary management, day-to-day administration, and co-ordinating information to relevant departments and people.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required for Entry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional personal appearance are of the utmost importance.
- Typing and computer literacy is of high importance, knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint is a bonus.
- Logical thinking and problem solving abilities to achieve complete customer satisfaction when dealing with complex client and production issues are essential.
- Versatility to undertake a range of activities as required by the business is essential

HGV DRIVER / RIGGER
The HGV Driver / Rigger will form part of the existing outside broadcast and operations team at Televideo. Based at Televideo’s Sheffield office, the role will require the candidate to travel to OB venues across the UK and Europe on a daily basis. The HGV Driver / Rigger will play an active role in the movement of OB trucks between sites, in the rigging and de-rigging of all venues an in the maintenance and upkeep of rigging equipment and cables at the Televideo base.
Typical Activities
- Driving all manner of vehicles including HGV trucks, carrying equipment / crew members.
- The rigging of cables and equipment on OB sites across the UK and Europe, with subsequent de-rigging after the event.
- Potential to assist technical operators on events.
- Maintenance of the garage and warehouse areas.
- Assisting the warehouse staff with prepping and loading of tender vehicles and to action a range of production activities as required by the senior management team.
- To comply with all health and safety legislation as documented in the employee handbook.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required for Entry
- A clean driving license (regular – HGV test to be achieved in employment)
- Experience of OB rigging would be beneficial.
Trainee VT (Video Tape) / EVS Operator
The Trainee EVS/VT Operator will be required to work on outside broadcasts across the UK and abroad, involving travel and unsociable hours. The successful candidate will play an active role as a member of the VT Department, developing skills in the production hub of an Outside Broadcast. They will be required to fulfil a wide range of VT operation requirements, including live action replays, building highlights packages, cutting opening and closing edits to music, and editing packages using commentary. As VT operator the candidate will be responsible for the recording of all broadcasts across a range of formats. The role will also include a variety of general OB tasks, to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of all OB client services. The Trainee VT/EVS Operator will be expected to progress to VT/EVS Operator status after gaining suitable skills and experience.
Typical Activities
- To provide a wide range of VT operation requirements as required
- To handle all VT and EVS equipment, with care and in the appropriate manner, ensuring it is stored in the appropriate container / flight case after use with all additional accessories and spares with which it was received.
- To ensure that, should your VT/EVS equipment be deemed faulty on the job, it is clearly labelled accordingly, and reported to the Unit /Technical Manager and followed up once back at base.
- Liaising with talent, other crew members, associated broadcasters
- To ensure that all OB units, following job completion, are audited and quality checked
- To assist on outside broadcasts involving a range of activities as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required for Entry
- Previous experience of VT and EVS Operation would be beneficial
- Transferrable skills such as editing / camera work will be of benefit
- An interest and knowledge of television sports productions
- Knowledge of a range of sports including the rules of the game, is an advantage
- Must be physically able to action the demanding activities on outside broadcasts
- Versatility to undertake a range of activities as required by the business is essential.
- Must be able to adapt working hours to suit the needs of the business.
- Excellent team working skills are paramount, with good interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with different audiences
- Ability to organise and prioritise work to ensure deadlines are met
- A clean driving license is beneficial.
- A minimum of 3 x A-levels, Televideo training academy qualifications also accepted, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent, in a technically related subject is required
Vision Engineer
The Vision Engineer will form part of the existing outside broadcast team. Based at Televideo’s Sheffield office, the candidate will be required to work on outside broadcasts across the UK and abroad, involving travel and unsociable hours. The Vision Engineer will play an active role as a member of the Engineering Department. They will be required to fulfil a wide range of Engineering tasks, including systems integration, electronic engineering, rigging and testing commentary and studio positions, implementing external feeds, assisting members of the crew with troubleshooting of cameras, racking cameras in a live OB environment, and prepping and overseeing the management of equipment at base. The role will also include a variety of general OB tasks, to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of all OB client services.

- To provide a wide range of Engineering requirements as required
- To handle all technical equipment, with care and in the appropriate manner, ensuring it is stored in the appropriate container / flight case after use with all additional accessories and spares with which it was received.
- To ensure that, should your equipment be deemed faulty on the job, it is clearly labelled accordingly, and reported to the Unit /Technical Director and followed up once back at base.
- To ensure that all returning OB units to base, following job completion, are audited and quality checked

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required for Entry
- Previous experience of Broadcast Engineering and live Television protocol is beneficial
- Working knowledge of PCs, previous experience with AV equipment
- Must be physically able to action the demanding rigging activities on outside broadcasts
- Versatility to undertake a range of activities as required by the business is essential.
- Must be able to adapt working hours to suit the needs of the business.
- Excellent team working skills are paramount.
- A clean driving license is beneficial.
- Minimum of 3 x A-levels, BTEC National Diploma, HND or equivalent in a relevant scientific or technical subject
Trainee Vision Engineer
The Trainee Vision Engineer will play an active role as a member of the Engineering Department. They will be required to fulfil a wide range of Engineering tasks, many of which will be taught in-house, including systems integration, electronic engineering, rigging and testing commentary and studio positions, implementing external feeds, assisting members of the crew with troubleshooting of cameras, racking cameras in a live OB environment, and prepping and overseeing the management of equipment at base. The role will also include a variety of general OB tasks, to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of all OB client services. Trainee Camera Operator
The Trainee Camera Operator will play an active role in the Camera Department, developing skills as an OB Camera Operator, ENG Operator and Studio Operator. They will be required to fulfil a wide range of camera operation requirements, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction. The role will also include a variety of general OB tasks, to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of all OB client services. The Trainee Camera Operator will be expected to progress to Camera Operator status after gaining suitable skills and experience.

- To handle all camera equipment, with care and in the appropriate manner, ensuring it is stored in the appropriate container / flight case after use with all additional accessories and spares with which it was received.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required for Entry
- Standard Camera Operation experience is essential, whilst specialised camera skills such as jimmy jib, pole cam and steady cam are a distinct advantage
- Experience in a range of shoot types eg: studio, ENG and OBs is a distinct advantage
- Must be physically able to action the demanding rigging activities on outside broadcasts
- A clean, tidy and professional personal appearance is essential.

Trainee Sound Engineer
The The Trainee Sound Engineer will be required to work on outside broadcasts across the UK and abroad, involving travel and unsociable hours. The successful candidate will play an active role in the Sound Department, developing skills from the audio hub of the outside broadcast. They will be required to fulfil a wide range of sound requirements, including rigging and testing commentary and studio positions, setting up interview positions, implementing microphones across OB venues for effects sound, assisting members of the talent team and crew with talkback, and prepping and overseeing the management of sound equipment at base. The role will also include a variety of general OB tasks, to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of all OB services. The Trainee Sound Engineer will be expected to progress to Sound Engineer status after gaining suitable skills and experience.
