'Edge of Tomorrow' Film Premiere

Ob's facilities for Tom Cruise's 3-city premiere

2nd June 2014

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is always up for a challenge, and on Wednesday 28th May he began a 24-hour stint which would see him attend three film premieres in 24 hours, for his latest blockbuster ‘The Edge of Tomorrow’.

Televideo provided outside broadcast facilities in London and Paris, before Tom jetted off to his final destination of New York. The red carpet marathon began at 7am at the UK’s largest cinema, the BFI IMAX on Charlie Chaplin Walk in London, where HD3 covered the star’s arrival with 3-cameras including a Jimmy Jib, for the Live Media Group and Warner Brothers Pictures.  The red carpet presentation included a question and answer session with Alex Zane.

By 2pm the private jet had landed in Paris, and Cruise hit the red carpet at the UGC Normandy on the Champs Elysees. Footage from the plane journey was edited on a Final Cut Pro and played into the show, which followed the stars of the sci-fi action film into the second screening of the day. Televideo’s HD2 was the hub of the 3-camera broadcast, which at this location included a hot-head camera to catch shots of the thousands of fans, out to see one of the world’s most famous actors.
