The first leg of the FINA Diving World Series took place at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield on the 1st and 2nd September, with Televideo providing the outside broadcast coverage on the two day event.
Divers from the Peoples Republic of China completed a clean sweep of gold medals over the weekend, proving to competitors that they are still the world’s number one diving nation, and are fully prepared for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Great Britain took the bronze medal in the Men’s 3m Synchro, and Britain’s’ 13 year old diving sensation, Tom Daley, showed great potential for the future.
Televideo used OB Unit 4 on the event, with a specification including 4 cameras, 2 mini-cams, one of which was positioned to give an under-water perspective, and VizRT graphics.
The footage was broadcast live across the USA, Europe and Asia, and will be shown in the UK as a 1-hour highlights package, to be aired on Sky Sports 3 on Monday 24th September at 4pm . |
