The Co-operative Funeralcare World Matchplay Bowls Championship 2010 once again came to Ponds Forge in Sheffield this year, and the whole tournament was broadcast live and exclusively on Sky Sports. Televideo were delighted to provide both the outside broadcast and production facilities for a fourth year, and as usual, during the 16.5 hours the team were on air, the competition took some unexpected twists and turns to make it one of the most exciting years yet, and always keeping the producers on their toes!
Over Thursday 17th and Friday 18th June the Televideo team produced 4 programmes, presented by Charlie Brougham and with commentary and reports from David Corkill and John Price. Across the 2 days Charlie was joined by a host of familiar faces from the world of bowls, with the 2010 winner Ian Bond joining the studio after his shock victory – ending the tournament on an incredible high and leaving the television audience and the crowds at Ponds Forge looking forward to next year’s competition.
Across the summer months Televideo will produce six 2-hour highlight shows for Sky Sports chronicling the tournament, ensuring fans of World Bowls can enjoy all the action once agains towards the end of the year |
