Televideo made a move into light entertainment for the day on Thursday 3rd October as OB facilities were provided to ITV for the This Morning 25th Anniversary Special. The legendary show moved back to its roots as the whole This Morning production team set up at Liverpools Albert Docks for the day, and presenters past and present came together to take part in a show that had its fair share of fun, frolics and mishaps all of which have contributed to its huge success over the years.
Televideos HD1 was provided as the hub of the ITV production teams operation, which saw 15-cameras positioned in a multiple sites in and around the Albert Dock. Sites included a yellow submarine, a recreation of the old studio set, the infamous floating map on which Keith Lemon hosted the weather, in an item presenter Holly Willoughby predicted would be a recipe for disaster! Further interviews and segments of the show were hosted from an old wooden sailing ship moored up on the dock, and a bandstand area on the cobbles on which The Undertones performed live to end the show.
Televideo were pleased to have played a part in the celebration of a programme that has been the focal point of morning television in the UK for quarter of a century, and whilst the jam-packed show and numerous locations provided a challenge, it was an enjoyable and new experience for the guarantee staff who were involved.
