World Indoor Bowls Championship for Sky Sports

Horse Racing for Racetec

British Superbikes coverage for ITV1 and Sky Sports starts April

It looks set to be another busy year for Televideo as the company’s new HD truck continues to generate interest. HD1, which was finished after almost a year of development in September 2006, is now in high demand, for both sporting and entertainment events. Since its launch HD1 has been used on a variety of jobs, including The British Superbike Championships, The Netball Superleague and numerous UEFA cup games. Richard Coventry, Outside Broadcast Director for the company, said: ‘’Our truck is a very strong rival to all other HD units in the UK and Europe. The layout and technology of HD1 means that events can be broadcast efficiently and with ease. Our end product will always be a top class show, featuring the most superior graphics package available, along with the highest quality pictures and sound.’’

As well as exciting new prospects, the Televideo team also look forward to their more familiar events throughout the year. The British Superbike Championships will this year enjoy its second year live on ITV1 and Sky Sports, although for the Televideo team it is well-known territory, with the company having broadcast the popular motor sport for the last seven years. Horse-racing also plays a big part in this year’s schedule, Televideo cover on average eighty races per year, having a specific OB truck with its own crew dedicated to this contract. Also on the agenda is The Potters Holidays World Indoor Bowls Championships – with three 2-hour shows being produced for Sky Sports, medical conferences including an Advanced Angioplasty operation and conference later in the month, along with many other exciting events throughout the year.

With a new top-class HD outside broadcast truck, new contracts and several new faces joining the team, 2007 is sure to be a great year for Televideo. The company is in its 30 th year, and it is with a wealth of experience, accompanied by the latest technologies, and an enthusiastic team, that Televideo will enter the new year, continuing to provide the highest level of broadcasting across the UK and Europe.
