Presenter Andrew Marr
Sunday AM @ London Riverside |
Televideo were pleased to provide outside broadcast facilities for the BBC when their flagship political programme, Sunday AM, left the studio to do begin a roadshow in early April. Sunday 1 st April saw presenter Andrew Marr interview a variety of faces from the world of politics and entertainment, including Douglas Alexander MP, Lord Steel, Sir Malcom Rifkind MP, and Oscar-winning actress Juliette Binoche. The show was broadcast from Edinburgh’s Point Hotel.
Sunday 29 th April again saw Televideo work on Sunday AM, which was live from the 9 th floor of the More London Riverside building. This involved a very difficult rig, with crew running cables up 11 storeys to reach the 9 th floor, to allow Andrew Marr and his guests a stunning view of Tower Bridge as the backdrop for their interviews. Guests on the show included John Reid MP, Sir Michael Lyons, BBC Trust, Carol Thatcher and the Manic Street Preachers. Televideo used OB Unit 3, with 5 cameras to cover the event.
Politics has certainly played a big role in Televideo’s schedule over the past months - earlier in the year the company provided an OB for Granada Television, when on Thursday 29 th March Prime Minister Tony Blair visited the CIS insurance and banking offices in Manchester, and held a question and answer session with a local audience. Unit 3 was used for this outside broadcast, with the footage being used on Granada News.
