On-board Camera Celebration on the podium

The 2007 season of the Bennett’s British Superbikes is now well underway, with 5 exciting rounds being broadcast from Brands Hatch, Thruxton, Silverstone, Oulton Park and Snetterton over the last month. Round 6 from Mondello Park will be held on Sunday 17 th June. The increasingly popular motor sport will again be shown live on ITV and as-live Sky Sports, with Televideo providing production facilities for the host feed, as well as outside broadcast facilities for ITV.

This year the company’s OB Unit 4 has undergone a complete refurbishment for the British Superbikes contract, and will be used as the presentation truck throughout the season. Televideo also send another of their larger OB units to each round, a truck which is used solely to cut and mix the races.

Another new specification to the ITV production this season came with the addition of onboard cameras. Two onboards, supplied by sub-contractors, will be used each week, with bikers of interest being chosen to have the cameras attached to their motor bikes, allowing viewers impressive point of view shots.
