Recent viewing figures for Televideo’s Sky Sports productions have proved extremely impressive – together the Elite Ice Hockey show and the Co-operative Netball Superleague have brought in a staggering 1.67 million viewers since the shows began in late September and October respectively.
Televideo are delighted with the figures, especially for the Elite Ice Hockey programme, which is in its first year of broadcast on Sky Sports. James Mitchell, producer of Elite Ice Hockey, said “I am really pleased with the viewing figures – we know that ice hockey is a sport with a very strong following, and I think the fact that fans are watching on Sky Sports will contribute to the continuing growth of ice hockey. We are enjoying being involved in the sport, and to know that the programme is being watched by so many each week is fantastic.”
The Co-operative Netball Superleague, now in its second year on Sky Sports, continues to enjoy consistently high viewing figures. The season has so far been an exciting one for netball fans, with the World Netball championships being aired in November, of which the World Final was undoubtedly the highlight, taking in 134,000 viewers. Danielle Scivill produces the Co-operative Netball Superleague: “It’s great to have strong viewing figures again this year. This season has been very special; we were pleased to be able to produce 4 World Championship programmes, which it seems were successful. We look forward to producing the rest of the netball series, which will include more international games, the Superleague Play-offs and the Grand Final.”
The Co-operative Netball Superleague is broadcast on Sky Sports on Thursday evenings, Elite Ice Hockey, also on Sky Sports, is broadcast on Friday evenings. |
