Last night the Titanic Quarter in Belfast was the setting for Carl Frampton’s IBF super-bantamweight world title fight against champion Kiko Martinez – and with a 16,000 seat stadium erected for the event, the atmosphere was electric as the fight attracted Northern Ireland’s biggest ever boxing crowd.
Televideo provided the OB facilities for clients Boxnation, with a 12-camera broadcast coming from HD1. The ‘Titanic Showdown’ production was live on Boxnation from 7pm, and was also taken in China and Brazil. The fight had been hailed as one of the most exciting in years, and the 12-round battle certainly didn’t disappoint. Frampton was crowned world champion in his hometown in front of a full house, and was overwhelmed as he celebrated the global boxing title victory.
The action continues on Boxnation throughout October and November, with Televideo providing facilities for all UK events. Next on the schedule is Live Military Boxing from the London Hilton on Park Lane, on Friday 17th October. The following week the team move north to Liverpool’s Echo Arena, to cover the ‘Magnificent Seven’, as local superstar Paul Butler heads an exciting British bill. November 29th will be a huge date in the boxing calendar, as Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury look to settle the score, as they fight for the right to face the division’s king, Wladimir Klitschko. All the action comes live from London’s ExCel Arena and televideo will be on hand to bring full high definition coverage to a global audience, with exclusive coverage on Boxnation in the UK. |
