The Showdown: Ronaldo v Messi
World Feed Coverage for Portugal v Argentina
It was Cristiano Ronaldo v Lionel Messi at Old Trafford – Tuesday 18th November saw the world’s two finest footballers continue their rivalry in a long-awaited showdown at the Theatre of Dreams, as Portugal took on Argentina in front of over 41,000 fans. In spite of the build up, the game was an insipid affair, with both of the crowd-pleasers only playing for the first half. The match was decided by a late diving header from Portugal’s Guerreiro, with the final score 1-0.
It may have been a slow match, but Televideo were kept busy, providing facilities to host broadcaster Pitch International, as well as a unilateral production for clients at ATM Broadcast. The company’s newest OB truck, HD8, was on hand to deliver the 12-camera world feed coverage, which included a Steadicam and Super SloMo, whilst one of Televideo’s smaller units, HD2, acted as the MCR for the Argentinean 4-camera add-on for TyC Sports.
The Argentinean broadcast also required the services of the newest addition to the fleet, Televideo’s first satellite truck, HD9, which uplinked the unilateral coverage to a satellite for downlink by TyC Sports.
