Televideo are delighted to have signed a contract with Zoom Communications, to provide OB facilities for the groundbreaking new channel Box Nation.
The channel is the first ever dedicated to serving live fight enthusiasts, and will be available on Sky’s platform from Friday 30th September. Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren and Boxing Channel Media have promised high quality content including two live championship promotions from the UK and around the world each week.
The first live event was presented by Richard Keys, and came from London’s York Hall, and featured a thrilling contest between Liam Walsh and Paul Appleby in which Walsh defended his Commonwealth Super-Featherweight title. Some of the most respected boxing broadcasters have already signed up to the new network, including presenters Jim Rosenthal and Paul Dempsey, pundit Steve Bunce and commentator John Rawling, all making this home to the most knowledgeable and engaging team in the sport.
The channel’s investors include Zoom Communications, South East Asia’s leading provider of broadcast services and facilities, for whom Televideo will be providing the high definition outside broadcast facilities for all the live UK events.
Paul Scivill, Managing Director of Televideo, said of the deal, “We are very pleased to be involved with this project, and to be working with both Zoom and Box Nation on such an exciting new channel. Each week the job will vary - the first event at York Hall was a medium camera specification, but looking forward to the next couple of events at the Royal Albert Hall and Liverpool’s Echo Arena, they will be considerably bigger – we are really looking forward to getting underway!”
Televideo’s HD1 was used on the first event, which was in High Definition and had a 8 camera specification. The biggest job on the calendar so far will be when Box Nation broadcast live from Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Saturday 15th October – this show is expected to require in the region of 15 cameras.
