January 2012 will see Televideo work alongside the National ice Skating Association UK as Host Broadcaster for the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2012. From 23rd – 29th January the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield will become home to some of the world’s leading figure skaters, and Televideo will be there to catch all of the action, which will be broadcast in High Definition to an anticipated 20 nations across the world.
Outside Broadcast unit HD1 will be used on the high profile event, which requires a total of 13 cameras, including Super Slo Motion and a Jimmy Jib, 4 x 6 channel EVS machines, 4 x Digibeta VTRs and a live graphics feed. In addition to the OB, Televideo as the Host Broadcaster take responsibility for all onsite broadcaster requirements, and at the moment anticipate that there will be in the region of 15-20 commentary positions required for the various world takers. Other facilities on offer through Televideo include ENG camera crews and equipment, editing systems, studio and mixed zone positions, and other various kit required throughout the arena.
The company have worked as host broadcaster on a number of prestigious sporting events, most recently, the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, the FINA Diving World Series, WNBA Basketball, the IPC European Swimming Championships and the European Synchronised Swimming Cup. The European Figure Skating Championships looks set to be a thrilling event and Televideo are delighted to be involved.
